THELMA MAE CALVERT

A celebration of life for Thelma Mae Calvert, 83, of Tracy, who died Nov. 5 at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa, was held Nov. 11 at the Tracy United Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Hall officiated at the services.

Interment was at the Bellefountaine Cemetery in rural Mahaska County. Casket bearers were Pat Bosso, Mike Christian, David Funk, Brian Lage, Eric Lage and Don Ray. Honorary casket bearers were Tyler Christian, Ray Kerr and Todd Lage.

Calvert was born on July 5, 1921. in Tracy. She was one of five children born to Effie Eldora Lundy and John Ray. Calvert grew up in Tracy and graduated from Tracy High School in 1940. On Oct. 19, 1942, she married Harry E. Calvert. Through the years the couple lived in various places in Texas, Minnesota and Iowa.

Calvert was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, Maryanne Kerr.

She is survived by two brothers and their wives: Donald and Retha Ray of Oskaloosa and Henry and Lillian Ray of Tracy; one sister, Naomi Funk, and her companion, Rocky Rhodes of Houston, Texas, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, friends and other relatives. Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice or the Bellefountaine Cemetery Association. Arrangements were made by Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
