Rites Planned

MARATHON (Special) -- Services for George O. (Tinker) Rutledge, 66, longtime resident of Marathon, will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Baptist Church here with the Rev. James R. Best, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Alpine, officiating.

Burial will be in the Marathon Cemetery under direction of Geeslin Funeral Home of Alpine.

Rutledge was found dead at his home here Thursday by a friend. He had suffered an apparent heart attack.

Born near Del Rio, Rutledge had lived in Marathon since 1915. He was a retired ranch hand.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. E. H. Kesler of Lubbock, Mrs. Fred Osburn of Reseda, Calif., and Mrs. Larry Van Nostrand of San Antonio; two sons, James of Uvalde and Kenneth of Mexia; a sister, Mrs. Meadie Boozer of Amada, Ariz.; a brother, Crick of Monahans; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
