Naomi Fay Dill Williams, 99, of Denton passed away on November 17. She was born May 26, 1913, in Winchester, KS to John Dill and Fay Davis Dill. Her first job was as a teacher for about twelve years in a one-room school in the Winchester area. During the war years of the 40's, Naomi worked in an aircraft plant in Kansas City. She then worked for many years as an office manager for an insurance company in St. Joseph, MO, and enjoyed an active social life with many friends playing bridge, traveling, and serving for several years as an officer in the local Altrusa Club. In 1975, she suffered a severe stroke and spent a couple of years in rehab eventually regaining her health including the ability to drive.
In 1982, she married Joe E. Williams in Fort Worth, TX, and enjoyed married life and her newly acquired family. Joe preceded her in death in 1991. She continued to live in Ft. Worth until 2002 when she moved to Denton where she lived independently at Primrose Apartments until a stroke in October, 2009.
Survivors include stepchildren Joe E. Williams, Jr. and wife Joyce of Buckingham, VA, Joy Ross of Ft. Worth, Johnny Williams and wife Jo of Denton, and Donna Gipson Burton and husband Carl of Azle; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a cousin Dan Sedlak of Winchester, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, her cousin Ruth Sedlak, stepson James T. Williams, son-in-law Burnie Ross, and son-in-law James Gipson.
The family is celebrating Naomi's life with a private memorial service. Interment will be at Laurel Land Cemetery in Ft. Worth. Memorials may be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Denton, or to Edge Park United Methodist Church, Ft. Worth, or simply by putting a few dollars in a Salvation Army bucket.
