Menzo J. Campbell was born on a farm in this town in 1859, and has since made Franklinville his home. When thirty years old he moved down to the village, and for five years was engaged in selling farm implements and fertilizers.

He then spent three years as traveling salesman for the Fort Wayne Road Machine Co., covering Central New York, and later working in Indiana. Two years were spent at Crayon Portrait business in Western New York and Pennsylvania.

In 1903 Mr. Campbell was elected Highway Commissioner, and in 1909 when the money system in Road Making superseded the old-time road-warrant labor scheme, he was made Town Superintendent, which position he has since filled.

Mr. Campbell was for two years Master of Franklinville Lodge No. 626 F. & A. M. He has served as Justice of the Peace, Town Assessor, and Director of the Franklinville Fair.
