Richard A. "Dick" Johnson, 80, of St. Albans, passed peacefully from this earth and entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday evening, at home.

He joined his wife of 56 years, Ruth Ann (Cobb) Johnson, along with many loved ones already in Glory.

He is survived by daughters, Diana Hancock of Charleston, Karen Johnson of St. Albans and Danielle Workman of St. Albans, along with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dick was an aerial photographer in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He worked at WCHS-TV for 24 years, Carbide/Bayer for 17 years and Loop Pharmacy for eight years.

He was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus and openly shared his faith, and was especially known for blessing friends and strangers alike with a heartfelt, "May God bless you!"

He always had love for his three daughters and all his friends and loved all of God's animals, including his buddies, Etee and Pooh Bear. Dick was also a passionate follower of the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Friends may call during visitation and service, to be held consecutively, Friday at 10 and 11 a.m. at Maranatha Fellowship Church, St. Albans.

Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Poca, is serving the Johnson family
