Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at Mt. Calvary COGIC. She passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at her home in Brownwood, Texas.

"Vivian was born April 3, 1935 to the parents Mose Craddock and Mary Ann Simmons Craddock in Mt. Pleasant, Titus County, Texas. She was the youngest of 17 siblings. She graduated in the class of 1953 from Booker T. Washington High School in Mt. Pleasant, TX.

"She moved to Phoenix, AZ immediately after high school where she met and married her husband Elder L.C. Smith on January 28, 1959 at the home of her sister brother-in-law Pastor Benny E. Dansby.

"Mother Smith was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at an early age and rededicated her life in 1973 as God sanctified her entire family beginning with her husband then her daughter and son-in-law. She served under the leadership of Bishop J.C. McGee of the Church Of God In Christ Congregation.

"She later became a member of Whole Truth Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Supt. Sylvestor Colter. She received her first license as an Deaconess Missionary in 1980 under the late Mother Ola H. Garner, State Supervisor and the late Bishop Felton E. King, Jurisdictional Prelate.

"Both Elder & Mother Smith had a strong desire to return to the state of Texas. They soon joined Powerhouse Church of God in Christ under the pastorate of Elder Eli Shavers until the Lord led Elder Smith to step out on faith.

"Mother Smith became the First Lady of Whole Truth COGIC in Brownwood, TX after Bishop J.A. Alexander ordained Elder L.C. Smith for the work. They continued in this ministry which was later merged with Mt. Calvary COGIC in Coleman, TX where she served faithfully for 28 years.

"She was installed by Mother Victorine Mackey with the approval of the late Bishop William Henry Watson, II as District Missionary of the Abilene District COGIC on March 23, 1983 and again served faithfully until she retired with full Emeritus status on March 1, 2009.

"District Missionary Smith not only served on the local and district levels but also served within the Jurisdictional Department of Women as a member of the Executive & Advisory Boards, State Secretary, State Finance Chairperson, State Financial Advisor and National Adjutant.

"Mother Smith possessed a great love for God and could be found in any given service sending up praises to Him. Her love for the ministry and for the people of God was unparalleled and her gentle, sweet spirit will be sorely missed by all.
