Charles Earl Lilly, age 79 of Brooks, West Virginia formerly of Slab Fork, went to be with his Lord on Sunday October 17, 2010.

Mr. Lilly was born on March 4, 1931 in Summers County, and was the son of the late Charlie W. and Dessie Hamm Lilly.

"Charles" was a dedicated Sunday School Teacher, deacon, and member of the Sophia First Baptist Church.

He was a member of the UMWA and worked for the Raleigh County School System from which he retired.

He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Lilly was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Hamm and Rev. Darrell Hamm, and by an infant brother who died at birth.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria Jane McGraw Lilly; Two sons, Larry Lilly and his wife Lisa of Daniels, and David Lilly and his wife Shelia of White Oak; Two daughters, Connie "Jeanie" Phillips and her husband Kenneth of Grandview, and Linda Bryant and her husband Pete of Palm Coast, Florida.

Thirteen Grandchildren; Alesha Richmond and her husband Robbie of Flagler Beach, Florida, Susan Ward and her husband Jamie of Daniels, Justin Lilly and his wife Ana, currently stationed in Germany, Carrie Christie and her husband Allen of Clarksville, Indiana, David Lilly and his wife Brandi, and Jennifer Lilly, all of White Oak, Kenneth "K.L." Phillips, Charles Phillips, and Chelsie Phillips, all of Grandview, Dana Lilly and Stacie Lilly of Daniels, Jordan Bryant and Bre' Bryant of Palm Coast, Florida.

Seven great-grandchildren who dearly loved their Papaw Church; Joshua, Mia, Peyton, Ty, Mara, Rylie, and Alexis.

Two Brothers, Rev. Phillip Lilly and his wife Velma, and Billy Joe Lilly and his wife Gwen.

Four sisters; Jacqueline McGuire, Lorene Tyree, Shelby Warden and her husband Jerry, and Geraldine Meadows and her husband Bobby.

Four Step-sisters; Virginia Wills and her husband Clarence, Myrtle Harvey, Millie Messer and her husband Curt, and Mae Hunt and her husband Vernon.

Three step-brothers, Homer Hamm and his wife Ruth, Mack Hamm and his wife Rosella, and Frank Hamm and his wife Ruby.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Wednesday October 20, 2010 at 3 PM with Rev. Charles Gilbert officiating.

Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 PM on Tuesday.
