Janette Perkins

The funeral service for former Holley carburetor plant employee Janette Perkins, 100, of Puryear was set at 1 p.m. today at Rose Lawn Mausoleum Chapel. John Dale was to officiate. Entombment was to follow in Rose Lawn Mausoleum.

Family members were to serve as pallbearers.

Visitation was from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. today at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Perkins died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.

Born April 22, 1912, in Palmersville, she was a daughter of the late Jacob L. and Laura Hendrix Shobe.

She was married on Sept. 5, 1933, to Herman Perkins, who died Feb. 9, 1983.

Perkins was a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ.

She leaves a daughter-in-law: Rosemary Perkins of Puryear; five grandchildren: Michelle (Lynn) Parker and Melissa (Robert) Gallion, both of Puryear, Debra (Steve) Lusk of Hixson, David (Betsy) Perkins of Jackson and Denise (Brian) Benson of Savannah; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a son: Keith Perkins; two sisters: Sarah Perkins and Vivian Sexton; and four brothers: Milburn, Buford, Odell and George Shobe.
