Harold R. "Pop" Belcher, age 86, of Plymouth, passed into eternal rest Sunday morning, Nov. 25, 2012, at the Wilkes Barre General Hospital.

Born Nov. 27, 1925 in Plymouth Township, he was the son of the late William and Lavinia Ertz Belcher. He attended Harter High School, Plymouth Township, and had been a member of the Franklin Street Primitive Methodist Church of Plymouth.

Harold was a United States Army veteran, serving during World War II. He served in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central European battles. He was the recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars

He was a member of the local American Legion. Prior to his retirement, he was employed, as an electrician, at Native Textiles of Dallas, and he was also employed by numerous other companies throughout the Wyoming Valley. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a devoted Penn State fan. He especially enjoyed fishing with his grandson, Joey.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, the former Bertha Lucinski, who passed away in 2004; brothers, William and James Belcher; sister, Mildred Rowlands.

Funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, Plymouth.

Entombment will be in the Chapel Lawn Mausoleum, Dallas.

Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
