Woodrow William Jenkins, 93, formerly of Webster County, died on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, Nov. 27th, at the graveside in the Parrott Cemetery.


Mr. Jenkins was born in Webster County, April 6, 1919, son of the late Homer Curtis Jenkins, Sr. and Nancy Hearon Jenkins. He was raised in Webster County and was a retired U. S. Air Force Veteran of WWII and Korea. He returned to Webster County after his retirement in 1963 and made his home there.


He as a member of the Rural Hill United Methodist Church and attended the Preston United Methodist Church as well. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Americon Legion.


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Jenkins, Dolph Jenkins, Clifford William "Bill" Jenkins and a sister, Nina Rebecca Jenkins.


Survivors include a daughter, Lenora J. Appleman and her husband, Toby of Lufkin, Texas, a brother, Homer Curtis Jenkins, Jr. and wife, Stormsie of Savannah, a sister, Dorothy Ann Wallace of Madison and four grandchildren, Scarlet A. Smith (Terry) of Gulf Breeze, FL, Lanette A. Sanches (Greg), Jennifer Appleman, and Amy A. Looney (Rob), all of Lufkin, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Jacob Smith, Grant Hightower (Tiffany), Briana Sanches and Bayley Roland.
