Mrs. Elizabeth Walden Howe (1873-1951) died in a local rest home Saturday afternoon after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with Rev. W. Pipes Jones officiating. Interment will be made in the family plot in Oak Hill East Cemetery under the direction of W. Carl Davis & Son.
Mrs. Howe was born July 12, 1873 in Syracuse, N.Y. She moved to Palatka over 30 years ago and had made her home here since. For 25 years she was employed by Ackerman-Stewart Drug Company and was a charter member and former regent of King Edward VIII Chapter, Daughters of the British Empire. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, and at one time was secretary of St. Catherine’s Auxiliary Guild.
Surviving is the mother, Mrs. Stewart Worden, of Palatka.
Pallbearers will be Herbert Wilson, Con Marvin, William Burt, Stanton Green, Ack Jones and Jerry Beck. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Monday, 23 Jul 1951.)
