PONTOCOLA - Larry Clay Mask, 52, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Pontotoc Hospital on Oct. 1, 1960, to Clay and Mary Lucille Coggins Mask. A lifelong resident of the Pontocola Community and a l978 graduate of Shannon High School, he was the owner/operator of Mask Farms. He and his family farmed cotton, corn, soybeans and wheat in Chiwappa Bottom as well as in the Mississippi Delta. He loved the land and all its produce and especially enjoyed this time of the year, harvest time. A member of Calvary Baptist Church in Shannon, he enjoyed hunting in younger days, going to auctions and equipment sales, watching his crops grow and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and many beloved friends in the Shannon/Pontocola areas.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. George Allen and Bro. James Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Mask Family Plot at Pontocola Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon to service time Saturday.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Wanda Sue Plunkett Mask of Pontocola, whom he married Sept. 5, 1980; two daughters, April Mask Mallette and Crystal Mask Patterson; his son, Clay Mask (Andrea), all of Pontocola; five grandchildren, Zachary, Abbygale and Brayden Patterson, Landon and Ansly Mallette; his sister, Linda Collins (Huey) of Old Union; and his mother-in-law, Mamie Plunkett of Nettleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Farris Mask; his two sisters, Lora Mask Duffie and Lanise Mask Hancock; his father-in-law, Horace Plunkett; and his brother-in-law, Donny Plunkett.

Pallbearers will be Cody Hancock, Jeff Mask, Jody Box, Jason Pannell, Paul Wayne Brown and Ricky Mask. Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers on Mask Farms: Samuel "Doc" Ezell, Charlie Brown and Aaron Fleming, Bo Reed, Kenny Sullivan and all his farming and auction buddies.
