Son and heir to Sir Thomas de Roos and Eleanor de Beauchamp.
Grandson of Sir William Roos and
Lady Margaret Arundel,
Sir Richard Beauchamp and
Lady Elizabeth Berkeley.
Sir Thomas was born at Conisborough Castle.

Thomas was the husband of Philippe Tiptoft, the daughter of Sir John Tiptoft, Knight of Bath, and Joyce Cherleton, daughter of Sir Edward, Lord Cherleton.
they had one son and four daughters:

* Isabel, wife of Sir Thomas Everingham, Sir Thomas Grey & Sir Thomas Lovel
* Margaret
* Joan

Thomas was summoned to Parliament as "domino de Roos" in 1449, assigned Captain of the army to set forth to sea in 1453 and was a devoted Lancastrian, having the grants of various manors once belonging to Richard Neville, Earl of Salisbury, who was beheaded at Wakefield.

Thomas fought at the 1st Battle of St Albans 1455, the Battle of Wakefield 1460, the 2nd Battle of St Albans 1461, present at Towton 1461 and fled with Henry Beaufort to Scotland, after which Philippe arrest was ordered in June. Thomas was attainted in Parliament 04 Nov 1461, he fled again, returned secretly in May of 1464, then headed north where he was captured at Hexham 15 May 1464, beheaded at Newcastle and buried at Hexham.

Philippe would remarry, to Thomas Wingfield and Edward Grimston.
