Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister Donna Lou Longfellow returned to her heavenly home after spending a nice Thanksgiving day surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 16, 1928 in Wheelon, Utah, the daughter of Orville Longfellow and Melba Adams.

Donna grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. She attended Utah State University. She married Robert L. Uhrey on May 10, 1952. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 18, 1962. They later divorced but remained friends.

Donna was employed by the Ogden Arsenal, the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Forest Service. She retired from the government after a distinguished career.

Donna's highest priority in life was her family – children and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She taught her children to love and honor the Savior through her steady example of having the highest integrity, loving service to others, patience and long-suffering. She served in many different callings but always enjoyed teaching children in the Primary.

Donna loved doing anything outdoors, camping, boating, just being in nature. She most loved the fall and the springtime and created beautiful gardens. She put together amazing family history scrapbooks and was a true homemaker. She was a joy to spend time with and we loved taking her on her dream vacation to Hawaii in June this year. Mom, we will sorely miss you and know we will see you again.

Donna was preceeded in death by her parents Orville and Melba Longfellow, 4 brothers Lamar, Kayle, Max and Artie Longfellow and one child –John Uhrey. She is survived by 4 daughters and 2 sons, Vikki Watts, Marc (Lanae) Uhrey, Debbie (Robert) Tolton, David Uhrey, Sandra Scheid, and Susan (Dennis) Poulsen. She is survived by 1 sister Connie Longfellow Lawson, 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
