1942-2012
Wayne Morris Wise was born on May 7th, 1942. He lost his diligent fight on Wednesday, November 21st. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, John Quincy Wise Sr and Mattie Mallie (Carraway) Wise and his siblings, John Quincy Jr (J.Q.), Lawrence Francis, Wendell William and John Earl (Buddy) Wise and sisters, Joyce Carolyn Franklin and Jo Frances O'Shields. Surviving siblings are Jean Jones, Burl (Nina), Lamar (Jenny) Wise and Jeanette Strother all of Pensacol, FL and Martha (Linny) Velasco of Chesapeake, VA.
Wayne, married to Shirley, had one daughter, Jerri McLeod (Ken). Wayne also had two step children, Kim Cogelia (Joe) and Jim Waldman (Cami) as married to June. He also has five beloved grandchildren; Shayna, Amillia, Cali, Michael and Caleb, along with a great granddaughter, Sydney. Wayne also has numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Wayne was an avid fisherman and lover of the outdoors. One of his greatest joys was found at the end of a fishing line. Wayne shared this love with his family. He immersed himself in nature.
He was an honest man and brought joy to everyone who knew him. He lived a simple life and cherished his family. Wayne knew no strangers and wore a smile even through his struggles. To know him was to love him as so very many people did and countless stories can be told of his jubilant personality.
As brother, father and papa, he will be dearly missed. So many joyful memories we will carry with us as we celebrate his life. We are all blessed to have known him and will continue to cherish the fond times we've shared with him.
Visitation will be on Mon, Nov. 26, 2012 from 5:00pm until 8:00 pm at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Tues, Nov. 27, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with the burial to follow at
