Mrs. Edith E. Vandiver, 81, of LaGrange passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008 at LaGrange Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Vandiver was born May 9, 1927 in Winter Park, Florida. She was a member of the First Baptist Church on the Square, and was retired from J.C. Penney.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Vandy and Elaine Vandiver; daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Bob Fiala, and Diane and Frank Perryman; grandchildren, Holly Vandiver, Heather Wise, Charlie Fiala, Amy Fiala, Richard Phillips, Frank Hancock, Steve Hancock, Tony Hancock, several great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mable and Mary. She was preceded in death by her husband, U.D. Van-diver Jr., and a daughter, Pat Hancock.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 Tuesday at Shadowlawn Cemetery with Dr. Paul R. Baxter officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 10:00 until 11:00.
