Howard Hendrickson was born in Pillager, Minnesota to Oscar and Anna Hendrickson. He married Mary "Elma" Andrist in 1921 in Crookston, Minnesota. He lived and worked in Bismarck, North Dakota for many years. They had a family of six sons and three daughters and also raised a foster son.
The family moved to Seattle, Washington in 1941 where Howard worked in the shipyards. Later he worked for the railroad, drove school bus, worked in a gas station and did odd jobs, often holding two jobs at a time to support his family.
Howard passed away in December of 1983 and is buried in Washington Memorial Park Cemetery.
