He was a carpenter and contractor, and erected many houses in Montrose. Children are: Henry Elbert Cooley born 1860, Eugene G. Cooley, born May 1862, Amos William Cooley Jr. born 9 May 1863, Lottie A. Cooley Jan 1866 & Georgia "Lou" Cooley born abt. 1866.
