Husband of Adaline "Ada" Augustist Leslie 1829-1917, (dau. of David Gager Leslie & Charlotte R. Carter) Residence: Scenery Hill, Montrose, PA. Amos William Cooley Sr. was a Civil War Veteran. He was a native of New Jersey but came to Montrose in Sep. 1861. They had one son, William A. Cooley of Montrose, two daus., Mrs. Crandall D. (Lottie) Hawley & Mrs. Lou (Georgia S.) Roth. He was a carpenter and contractor, and erected many houses in Montrose. Children are: Henry Elbert Cooley born 1860, Eugene G. Cooley, born May 1862, Amos William Cooley Jr. born 9 May 1863, Lottie A. Cooley Jan 1866 & Georgia "Lou" Cooley born abt. 1866.
