Roy A Conaway, 79, of Diamond died at 5:45 am Tuesday in Titusville Hospital following a short illness. He was born at Balltown, Aug 25, 1885, the son of E J and Celestia Hawthorne Conaway. He was married July 22, 1910, at Mayville, NY, to Florence Headley, who died in October, 1943. He was a retired farmer, and enjoyed hunting as a hobby. He is survived by the following children: Mrs Allen (Ethel) Crantz of Ripley, NY, Mrs Juliujs (Mary) Pachnick of Titusville, Star Route, Raymond J Conaway of Tryonville, Walter A Conaway of Cooperstown, Robert L Conaway of Diamond, and Charles R Conaway of Titusville; a sister, Mrs Arta Decker of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Lester Conaway of Philadelphia and William Conaway of Hoisington, Kan, and 15 grandchildren. One son, Lloyd, and three brothers died previously. Friends may call anytime at the Horace D Williams Funeral Home at Chapmanville and attend the funeral service there at 2:30 pm Thursday with Rev Gerald Lundeen, pastor of Diamond EUB Church, officiating. Interment will be in Diamond Cemetery. The family has suggested that flowers be omitted.
