Army Capt Dalley was assigned to the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany. Dalley died from a non-hostile gunshot wound (under investigation). Nathan graduated from Brighton High School in 1994 where he was Senior Class President and a member of the National Honor Society. As a student, he stood out as someone who was always eager to help and accomplish things โ€“ he always wanted to know what the next task was going to be. He then went to West Point Military Academy in New York where he graduated in May 1998. After graduation from West Point, he wanted to experience the world, so he backpacked through Europe and took part in the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Nathan had originally wanted to become a naval officer so he could fly fighters but discovered that his eyesight was too poor. He then chose the Army and hoped to become a Ranger with the Special Forces but was deployed to Iraq before he could finish the training. He was devoted to his family and friends and was a soldier who knew no fear. He was hard working, reliable and dependable. Nathan was engaged to be married when he was killed.
