At Lyon St. Cemetery, a long row of 10 small gravestones with the name of each of the 10 members in his family. Mary, Helen, Sarah, Willard, George, Stephen, Mother, Father, Grandmother & Grandfather. In the center of this long row of stones is a tall monument with epitaph: Martin G. Sweet Died Aug 28, 1893 Aged 74 yrs. His family Died in 1864.
Note: His wife, Betsey (Walker) Sweet died with 5 of their children of spotted fever, also known as Black Fever. Martin married wife # (2) Frances Lieuellen (Cory) Bass, also from Herrick Twp. & moved to New Romadka Mill, York, Clark Co., Wisconsin & lived next to his son, John Franklin Sweet. Martin & Frances had a dau., Alice Sweet. Frances died in 1889 & Martin moved back to East Mountain, Gibson, Susquehanna Co., PA where he died and was buried 4 years later.
