Sarah Jayne Weber, 87, formerly of Huntington, IN, now of Tucson, AZ, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in Tucson, AZ.

Jayne was born December 8, 1924, in Huntington, IN, to the late Jacob and Marie (Skully) Young.

Jayne, "The Tiny Jewel of the Sonoran Desert" is the name given by her peers. Jayne calls herself a "Sandwich Child" having an older and a younger brother. Jayne was a city girl during the winter months, and a free-spirited tomboy during the summer, spending time at the family cottage on Crooked Lake. She fought rapids, swam like a fish, ran from snakes and kept up with her siblings, or should we say, they kept up with her.

She attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, and graduated with a degree in business. In 1945, Jayne married Henry Eldon Weber, and they honeymooned at Yellowstone National Park.

He was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. After the war Henry attended Huntington College, while Jayne worked at Huntington Herald Press, and then later taught school in Lancaster, IN. After graduating from college, they lived in Bloomington, IN, while Henry attended dental school at Indiana University.

They then moved back to Huntington, IN, where Henry set-up his dental practice, and Jayne stayed at home helping to raise her three children: Stephen adn his wife Rita Wever of Machesney Park, IL; Patrick Weber and his companion Amy, of Tucson, AZ, and Susan and her husband Thomas Leedy of Huntington, IN. 5 grandchildren: Jonathan Weber; Chris Weber; Michael Weber, Daniel Leedy and Megan Leedy; 1 step- grandchild, Matt Lucas, and 3 great-grandchildren: Anthony, Ryan and Chloe Weber, and 2 step grandchildren Christian and Braden Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry, and 2 brothers, Jay and Jack Young.
