Carl E. Valentine, Sr., 71, of N. Lehigh Ave., Sayre, Pa., and formerly of Spencer, N.Y. went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 25, 2004, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre.
He was born on September 22, 1932 in Candor, N.Y., a son of the late Rodney and Dorothy (Valentine) Liddington.
Carl was a member and Past President of the Spencer Emergency Squad; a devoted member and Past President for the Spencer-Candor Lions Club. Carl retired from Cornell University as a Security Guard for Cornell University and later worked for the Veterinary College. In addition, he also drove school bus for the Spencer-Van Etten School District. He was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed.
Carl is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years.....; his daughters and sons-in-law.....; his sons and daughters-in-law......; his brother and sister-in-law.....; a sister and brother-in-law......; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carl was predeceased by his daughter, Francine Valentine on December 11, 1957; and a son, Neil Valentine on May 23, 1998.
We would like to thank the staff at Robert Packer Hospital for their love, support and care during Carl's recent surgery and illness.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services and a celebration of Carl's life on Saturday, February 28, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley, N.Y. with Pastor Tyson Wahl and Pastor Jim Fox of the Keystone Baptist Church, officiating. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
At his request, cremation will take place at the Tioga Point Crematory, Athens.
Interment will be held at the convenient of the family in the Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley. Those who wish may kindly consider a memorial contribution to the Greater Valley EMS, 904 N. Lehigh Ave., Sayre, Pa. 18840 in loving memory of Carl E. Valentine.
