The son of Felipe Ayub and Jesusita Caballero Ayub, he graduated from El Paso High School, Texas Western College of Mines, and St. Louis University Medical School (Class of 1948).

From 1953 until 1955 he served our country as a medical physician and a Captain in the Army at White Sands Missile Range.

He was one of the founding physicians for La Fe Clinic, and served as Doctor-in-Charge for Farah Manufacturing Company for over 15 years. In addition to his family practice, he served as the physician for the County Jail in downtown El Paso. Dr. Ayub was a well respected dedicated physician who loved and served his patients and his community up until early September, 2010; for a total of over 60 years.

He married Loraine Pennock in 1948 and had seven children. He married his second wife, Esperanza Garcia Ayub in 1981; they raised three children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Carolina Ramirez, Mary Darbonnier, Margaret Amparan, Hortencia Ayub, Elias Ayub, Felipe Ayub, Guillermo Ayub; and his oldest son, Leonard Paul Ayub.

He is survived by his brother; his wife, his children, 14 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. As the patriarch of his family, he will always be loved and remembered. (El Paso Times, September 26, 2010)
