BENSON. April 29, at 6360 Maryland Drive. Andrew L. Benson, beloved husband of Mrs. Priscilla M. Benson and loving brother of Capt. B. J. Benson and Miss Thora Benson of San Francisco, Mrs. Joseph Gall of Stockton, Mrs. Mary Baldez of Chicago, and Mrs. John Zimmerman of Visalia, Cal.

Rosary this evening at 8 o'clock at Edward Brothers' Colonial Mortuary. Funeral from Edward Brothers' Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Mass at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral chapel, 927 South La Brea.

Andrew Benson Rites Conducted

Final rites for Andrew L. Benson, 50 years of age, who died last Saturday at his home at 6360 Maryland Drive, were conducted yesterday from Cathedral Chapel. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Benson was born in Stockton and had resided in the Los Angeles area for the past thirty years. He was widely known in musical circles, and was the composer of "The Birth of a Poppy," a popular ballad written for the San Francisco's World Fair in 1915. He also assisted in the production of the Indian Pageant Play at Laguna Beach.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Priscilla Benson, and several brothers and sisters.
