LIMA — Judy Lynn Muntean began her journey to Heaven on Tuesday, November 21, 2012 from Riverside Methodist Hospital following a brief and unexpected illness. Judy was born in Lima, Ohio to Dan and Mary Davis.
She graduated from Elida High School in 1981 and received her BSBA from Ohio Northern University in 1985. Judy met Nick Muntean at ONU and they were married in 1985, beginning their 27 year love story. The couple was blessed with daughter Nicole in 1991 and son Matthew in 1994. The family spent 23 of their 27 years in Central Ohio, residing in Dublin and Powell. Judy worked in Finance and Systems at Lazarus Department Stores and Banc One. From 1995-2000 Nick's job with Nationwide Insurance took the family to San Antonio, Texas.
Shortly after returning to Ohio, Judy discovered her true calling working in the Olentangy Local Schools. She served as an aid for Wyandot Run Elementary School and later helped open Hyatts Middle School as the Building Secretary. The staff and children of the schools became her second family and she cared for them with an abundance of joy and efficiency. Outside of school, Judy's life revolved around her friends and family and a majority of time was spent at sporting events including soccer tournaments and Liberty softball, football and basketball games.
Waiting for Judy in Heaven are her parents Dan and Mary and Nick's parents Nick, Sr. and Joanne Muntean. She is survived by husband Nick, daughter Nicole, son Matt, brother Jeff Davis, his wife Heather and their family of Lima, OH, brother Charlie Davis, his wife Jenny and their family of Lima, OH, brother-in-law Tom Haught, his wife Linda and their family of Lisbon, OH, and sister-in-law Carolyn Thomas and her family of Wilkesboro, NC. "Love is all that we need, and we found it there in your heart, and isn't too hard to see you're in Heaven."
Family will receive friends from 1-3 & 5-8pm. MONDAY at ST. JOAN OF ARC CATHOLIC CHURCH, 10700 Liberty Road, Powell, OH 43065 where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2012 with Judy's uncle, The Reverend Robert Kurber, Celebrant. Burial will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, OH.
