Funeral services for Carlos A. Wood, 67, Rural Route, Sidney, will be at 2 pm Sunday at Sidney Christian Church. O. J. Thomas, Danville, will officiate assisted by Ed Nickols, Philo. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sidney. Jeanes-Kirby Funeral Service, Homer, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation at the home of son, Herschel Wood, Sidney, will take place from 2-5 and 7-9 pm Saturday. Mr. Wood died at 5:45 pm Thursday, July 1, 1965 at Burnham City Hospital where he was admitted Wednesday. He had been in failing health for some time. Born May 9, 1898 at Sidney, Mr. Wood was the son of Henry and Lucinda (Peters) Wood. His marriage to Beulah Moore took place March 15, 1919 in Urbana and they had since farmed in the Sidney area. He was a member of Sidney Christian Church. Mr. Wood leaves his widow with one son, Herschel, Sidney; one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie F. Luckhardt, Urbana; a grandson, Kenneth E. Luckhardt, Urbana, and one brother John W. Wood, Clearwater, Fla. His parents, two sisters, and seven brothers preceded him in death. (News Gazette July 2, 1965)
