Mrs. Adkins was a Yancey County, NC native and had lived in Unicoi County most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Moss and Lora Tolley Holloway.
Mrs. Adkins was a homemaker and attended the Erwin Church of God.
Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Adkins, in 1975, one son, one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Norman Adkins of Erwin and James "Rab" Adkins of Unicoi; five daughter, Glenda Hilton of Unicoi and Shelia Bacon, Teresa Presnell, Kristie Bennett and Alice Shelton, all of Erwin; two sister, Mollie Street of Erwin and Essie Vanover of Unicoi. *Source- The Johnson City Press, Jan. 1, 2000, Page 2
