Immigrated to New York USA from the Provence of Hanover, Kingdom of Prussia, Village of Hillsdale, now Germany on the Ship named Meta on August 24, 1854 with his Parents Frederick and Wilhelmine Mund and older Sister Sophie who was 20 at the time. Lived in Blenheim, County of Oxford (Ontario) Canada West for a few years where he met Susan Jury Mund (who was born in England) and married on September 11, 1863 in Bright, Oxford, Ontario Canada. They had two children in Canada - Elizabeth and Henry T. Then they moved to Michigan and settled in Section 13 of Chase Township in Lake County Michigan. Seven more children were born. William Charles, Frederick, Clara Mary Jane, George John, Dorothy, Susannah, Pearl Elizabeth.
