Of Dagsboro, DE, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012, at Harrison Senior Living in Georgetown. She was 79.

Jeannette was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Gordon H. and Annie Shaw Melody. She was a true homemaker, and enjoyed cooking. She also enjoyed watching westerns. She attended the Bethel U. M. Church in Dagsboro. She enjoyed working behind the scenes at various community events.

Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Snyder, III in 1994, daughter, Christine Salemi, and brothers, Hugh Melody and Ralph Melody. She is survived by her children, Walter "Wes" Snyder, IV and wife Trudy of Middletown and Melody Shank and her husband Roger of Arizona, 1 sister, Marion Ward and husband Jim of Bear, 7 grandchildren, Shawn, Wesley, Dawn, Dwayne, Nancy, Paul and Jonathan and several great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 11:00 am. Interment will be in Prince Georges Chapel Cemetery, Dagsboro.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
