Reading Eagle, Dec. 16, 1955, page 19:
John W. Fenstermacher, 80, of Rockland Township, died this morning in Allentown Hospital.
Born in Rockland Township and a life long resident there, he was a son of the late John and Catherine (Bieber) Fenstermacher. He was engaged in farming.
A member of the Lutheran congregation of New Jerusalem Church, he served for many years on the church council and cemetery board. He was a member of the Rockland Rod and Gun Club, Lyons Lodge of Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Lyons Fire Co., Topton Fire Co., Pike Township Sportsmen's Assn., and the East Penn Democratic Club.
Surviving are his widow, Rachel (Angstadt) Fenstermacher; four daughters: Mrs. George Kutz, Jr., Lyons; Mrs. Arthur Oswald, Fleetwood R.D. 1; Mrs. Russell Gambler, Fleetwood R.D. 1, and Mrs. Oliver Stoudt, Topton; a foster son, Luther Weidner, Lyons; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and two brothers, Charles I. Bayside L.I., N.Y., and Harvey, Kutztown.
Private services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.from the J.J. Schofer & Son Funeral Home here [Topton], followed by public services at 2 p.m., in the New Jerusalem Church, the Rev. Charles T. Herman and the Rev. Dr. Clarence E. Keiser officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
