Born in Orange, he lived the last 65 years in Bloomfield.

He worked as a Supervisor for Ballantine and Rheingold Breweries retiring after many years.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of the Montclair Knights of Columbus.

Thomas Abendschoen was the husband of the late Nancy Maffei Abendschoen for 47 years and loving father of Thomas Jr. and his wife Cathy of West Caldwell, Robert of Bloomfield, Margaret Buraszeski and her husband Thomas of Pine Brook, Edward and his wife Barbara of Bloomfield, Nancy Rosetti and her husband Robert of Bloomfield, William and his wife Laura of Bloomfield, Joyce Ricci and her husband David of Jackson and Alan and his wife Donna of West Caldwell. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and the late Davin. He was the brother of the late Betty Charette.
