Roger was born in Bethel, Kentucky, to the late Luther and Jimmie Leggett Ratliff. He loved working with his hands and building things. Roger enjoyed working with antiques and was a machinist by trade, and he owned and operated Ratliff Machine Works in Dallas. He enjoyed all of his buddies coming into the shop and drinking coffee, while solving all the problems of the world.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy and Billy Ratliff; and a sister, Lucille Harris.
He is survived by his daughters, Tiffany Thompson, of Minnesota, and Memory Davis, of Denver, Colorado; sister, Nancy Lyons, of Kentucky; his sister-in-laws, Virginia Ratliff, of Bethel, Kentucky, and Vicky Ratliff, of Midlothian; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
