(Also known as): James D. Boone.

(Noted): One researcher has down that James' full name is: (James Daniel Boone); and another person on (Familysearch.org) has down that (James D. Boone) was born on (September 26th, 1799), in Amity Pennsylvania; and that his parents were (David Boone & Anna Davis), who were married on (March 16th, 1791), and, that, they had the following children:

(1) Elizabeth Boone, 1792 -1868),
(2) Hugh Boone, (1793-1805), Possibly a "Twin"
(3) Hannah Boone, (1793-1805), Possibly a "Twin"
(4) Edward Boone, (1798–1832),
(5) James Boone, (1799 -1880).

And, that, (David Boone) was the son of (Hugh and Catherine Boone). But, "our" (James D. Boone), though he was born in (1799) in Pennsylvania, died in (1869) in Ohio, and not in (1880). So, more research is needed.

(Also Noted): Someone else posted on another Genealogy Website, that James D. Boone was born in (Somerset, Somerset County, Pennsylvania).

(Occupation): In James' earlier years he was a Blacksmith, and later on he worked as a Postmaster for the Baker's Run Post Office, in Hardy County, "Old Virginia," (present day West Virginia), in 1851.

(My Notes): My Great-Grandmother Bertha Mae (Boone) Snapp and her Boone Brothers, have all said that our Boon(e) family was related to the famous pioneer frontiersman, Daniel Boon(e); but we're still about one generation away from proving that family story. But, one of my Great-Uncles, Uncle Nelson Leo Boone, once told me about a tree in West Virginia, that his Boone family said Daniel Boon(e) had carved out his own name on it. While, another Boone cousin, Joseph William Boone, said his father Luther Clinton Boone (my Great-Great-Uncle) told Joseph, that our Boone's are related to Daniel Boone, somewhere around the 6th or 7th generation. Yet, James D Boon(e)s son, Samuel Lewis Boone's (son) James Thomas Boone's relatives, said they've done the Ancestry DNA Test, and it still hasn't proven whether or not we're related to (Daniel Boone)s British Boone family from Devonshire, England, or connected to them in some way, by another Bohn (Boon) German family from Maryland and Ohio. (Also Noted): Though James D. Boon(e) said he was born in Pennsylvania, and, some of his adult children also said he was from Pa., some of his other adult children had put down on their U.S. Census Records, that he was born in Maryland, while some of his other children had said he was from Ohio. So more research is still needed. Another Boone relative told me that the reason why James moved his family to Fairfield, Tuscarawas Co., Ohio., before the 1860 Census, was because he had Boon(e) family there.
