JAMIE DISNEY MASENGILL COUCH, a lifelong resident of Jefferson City, TN passed away on November 22, 2012. She graduated from Carson Newman College and received her Masters Degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She taught school in Jefferson County for many years, starting at Rush Strong and then Maury. She also taught Physical Education at Jefferson City High School and Jefferson County High School. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed square dancing and especially enjoyed their trip to the western states. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City since childhood, where the Music Library was dedicated in her honor. She was a member of the Ersa Davis Music Club and Order of Eastern Star. She was also a former board member of Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Couch; her parents, J. W. (Tobe) and Polly Disney Masengill; grandparents, Samuel and Hattie Hensen Masengill, and A. J. and Maude Jefferies Disney.

She is survived by her cousin, Sally Neas and her husband Carroll Allen of Morristown; her grand cousins, Angee Allen and David Woody of Greeneville, Amy Allen Keesee; her great grand cousins, Rachel and Laura Woody, Nolan and Caroline Keesee, whom she loved dearly; cousins, Jeanne Cutshaw of Greeneville and Jacqueline Westbrook and brother-in-law, John Basson of Knoxville; niece, Liz Ann Basson and husband, Steve Berry of Knoxville; niece and nephews, Cindy, Mike and Steve Rich of Clemson, SC.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 5:00 Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Farrar Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Jefferson City with Rev. Gene Wilder and Rev. David Woody officiating. Graveside interment service will follow the service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mike and Steve Rich of Clemson, Dan Noel of Knoxville, Mike Noel of Atlanta, Rick Noel of Greeneville and Steve Berry of Knoxville. Honorary pallbearers will be Nolan Keesee of Morristown, Jeff and Dillon Coakley of Greeneville, Matt Noel, Nathan Duke and Tyler Duke of Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Music Department of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, 1610 Russell Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760
