A TRIBUTE TO DAN WINTER

In a homestead shack south of Morristown in the year of 1913
A baby boy was born to Fred and Myrtle Winter the day before Halloween
He was a good baby and they named him Daniel Eugene
But he was a good hard worker and never was he mean
He spent his life in ranching and farming and was as good as he could be
I don't believe there was another farmer any better than he
He lived by the Ten Commandments as he learned to do
He married Beth Lighthall on March 13, 1942
They married for a lifetime as people used to do
They worked hard in the daytime and sometimes at night too
They had three children, two girls and a boy
David, Anita and Cindy who were their pride and joy
With those three children and seven grandchildren it really made their life
Because they were a very happy couple as husband and wife
This host of friends were always welcome and could stay the whole nigh through
An if you were a stranger you were welcome to a meal and a drink or two
Finally on September 22, 1988, this good man passed away
We need never worry 'cause he will pass with straight A's
And he will be remembered on the judgement day.
