Jack M. Cummings, 90, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 in Helena, Montana.
Jack was the 4th child of Jessie and Lois Cummings. He was born September 22, 1922 in Mangum, Oklahoma. Jack served in World War II in the Pacific theater, flying in B-24 Liberators as a belly gunner. Jack married Gwendolyn V. Cole in 1944 and were separated only by the death of Gwen in 2009 after nearly 65 five years of marriage.In 1949 Gwen, Jack and their four year old son Jerry Mac, moved from Gainesville, Texas to Wichita Falls, Texas where Jack began an over thirty-five year career in the new and used car business. In the early 1950's Jack discovered the game of golf and continued to enjoy it for the rest of his life. He was also a life long member of the Maskat Shrine Temple in Wichita Falls.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gwen, three brothers, Clifton (Tot), Gail and Jessie (JC) and his granddaughter Amy Cummings.
He is survived by his sisters Fay and Betty Jo, son, Jerry Mac (Francene) of Helena, Montana, three grandsons, Jason (Lena), Ian (April) and Jack (Amanda) and three great grandchildren, Abigail, Jacob and Jack Jr. and step Great Granddaughter, Candace. Brother-in-law Eugene (Bugs) Cole (Katie).
Jack has been cremated and remains returned to Wichita Falls. A grave side service, next to his beloved wife, will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Riverside Cemetery in Wichita Falls.
