Death Takes Native a 90

Mrs. Jessie L. McLaughlin 2008 S.W. Edgewood raod, who was born in Portland July 30, 1861, died Monday at Providence hospital. Mrs. McLaughlin, educated at St. Helen's hall, was a charter member and past president of the Ben Butler women's relief corps. She was honorary chaplain of the organizatin at the time of her death. She was the widow of Charles B. McLaughlin and the daughter of Emma Kern and Philip A. Marquam, both of whom were Oregon pioneers. Mrs. McLaughlin was a member of the First Presbyterian church.

She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Mary Krantz and Mrs. Edith Dickover, both of San Francisco; Mrs. Jessie Watkins, Mrs. Rebecca Knight and Sadie McLaughlin, all of Portland; one son, Randall, Arch Cape, OR.; three sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Prince, Portland; Mrs. Sarah M. Hill, Troutdale; Mrs. Metta Turner, who lives near Seattle, and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Finley's Morninglight chapel. Private commitment will follow at Riverview Abbey crematorium.
