Hazel I. Stewart

Hazel I. Stewart, 82, a resident of Worthington Manor Care Center, formerly of Evandale Terrace, Parkersburg, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at Worthington Manor.

She was born in Belleville, a daughter of the late Solomon W. and Maude Belle Armstrong Buffington. Mrs. Stewart retired from the Internal Revenue Service and was previously employed at the former American Viscose Corporation and the Wood County Health Department. She attended both Mountain State College and Parkersburg Community College and participated in various women's and business organizations. She was Protestant by faith.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by several nieces and nephews, including a great-nephew and caregiver, Ed Buffington of Waverly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Holly "Spark" Stewart, in 1986; three sisters, Mildred Buckles, Margaret DeBarr and Anna Leikari; and three brothers, Howard, Hoyt and Clyde Buffington.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, the Rev. Marilyn Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday
