On December 10, 1940, she was united in marriage to Harold Heins by Pastor H.H. Spaude in the parsonage of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Surprise. She was brought into the family of God through Holy Baptism and was confirmed in her faith on December 22, 1940. God blessed their marriage with two sons: Larry and Dean; and two daughters: Beverly and Patricia.
Ruby was a long-time member of the Union Extension Club. The club served lunches at many farm sales so Ruby made lots of pies. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid at Zion Lutheran Church. In recent years, Ruby enjoyed spending the winters at their home in Homosassa, Florida. On January 7th, Ruby suffered a heart attack at their winter home in Florida. Our God in His loving mercy called her home to heaven on Saturday, January 29th at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 29 days. Her body will be laid to rest to await the great resurrection day at the Faith East Cemetery of Garrison, Nebraska.
Ruby is survived by her husband Harold, her children; Larry Heins, Beverly Heins Howe, Patricia and Albert Richert, Dean and Connie Heins, 11 grandchildren, her in-laws: Mrs. Ray From, Mrs. Gene From, Mr. & Mrs. Dale Anderson, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 brother-in-law. Funeral services were held February 4, 1994 at Faith Lutheran Church, Rising City, Nebraska.
