Nellie Spencer of Putnam Valley passed away on November 21, 2012. She was born on July 4, 1917 in Ballindine, County Mayo, Ireland to Mary and Richard Reapy. She immigrated in 1939 to the United States where she met her loving husband John "Jack" F. Spencer. They were married on St. Patrick's Day, 1947 and resided on Carpenter Avenue in the Bronx. Nellie was a nurse at the former Cross County Hospital for many years. She was a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and was also very passionate and supportive of Irish Step Dancing. She is survived by her loving children John Francis (Eileen) Spencer and Cathy (Fred) Revis. She is also survived by her seven adoring grandchildren John (Jennifer) Spencer, Jim Spencer, Kevin Spencer, Katie (Matt) Carney, Maggie (Jensen) Basenberg, Fred (Kristen) Revis, and Danny Revis. She is predeceased by her husband Jack.

Visitation will be on Sunday 1-5pm at Cargain Funeral Home in Mahopac. A Mass will be on Monday 11:15am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak with an interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Sisters of the Divine Compassion 52 North Broadway, White Plains, NY 10603.
