Murphysboro -- Edward Emery VanCloostere, 88, of 1441 N. 14th St. died at 5:28 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 1988, in the Jackson County Nursing Home.

Mr. VanCloostere was born May 13, 1900, in Murphysboro, to Emile and Minnie (Young) VanCloostere. His siblings include Emile VanCloostere Jr., Rosa Vancloostere, and two brothers [names unknown] who preceded him in death.

He married Anna Ross in 1925. She died in 1971.

Mr. VanCloostere was a retired molder for the Corondlet Foundry in St. Louis. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Elks Lodge, alll in Carbondale; Moose Lodge 5867; the Murphysboro Senior Citizens; and the Jackson County Farm Bureau.
