Lynn Allan Scott, 62, a fifth generation resident of the Scoggins Valley community died November 16, 2012 at the Marquis of Forest Grove in Forest Grove.

Lynn was born on October 22, 1950 in Hillsboro, OR. He was one of two sons born to Hank Scott and BeeJay Larsen. He was raised on the family farm in Scoggins Valley and received his education in the Forest Grove School district. Attended Forest Grove High School Graduating with the Class of 1968 then continued his education at Oregon State University. While in school Lynn was active in the FFA Chapter and had served as the state treasurer in 1968.

He was married to Yvonne Obenhaus they had three sons. They later divorced in 1983. He met his future wife, Joni Tighe, by a chance encounter. They soon began dating and after a six year courtship they were married on August 19, 1990. They made their home in Hillsboro, next to the families business until 1996 when they moved to Scoggins Valley.

Lynn had worked in the family business all of his life. He started as a parts puller and driver for Scotts Machinery in Hillsboro and eventually became manager. Lynn and Hank started Scoggin Creek Harvesting, a logging co. in 1997. Which Lynn was active as a partner until October of 2012.

He loved to play guitar and sing old country music. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camp cooking while he was hunting and fishing. He also liked history, politics, socialize with his large group of friends and family. Lynn was very well groomed and loved animals, he even had a pet skunk he named flower. He was a generous and outgoing friend who always wanted to help whenever he could.

Lynn is survived by his loving wife, Joni, four children and a daughter-in-law; Eric Scott of Carlton, OR, Brandon Scott of Cornelius, OR, Brian and Tonya Scott of Forest Grove, OR, Taylor Scott of Scoggins Valley, OR, his father and step mother; Hank and Jeannine Scott of Scoggins Valley, Or, his mother and step father; Bee Jay and Bill Williams of Seneca, OR, a brother and sister-in-law; Dan and Lynda Scott of Los Angeles, CA, two grandchildren; Valerie and Hailee, a brother-in-law ; Thomas Tighe of San Diego, CA, Lynn's in-laws; Glenn and Shirley Tighe of Lake Havesu, AZ, and Charlotte Tighe of Douglas , WY.
