LEBANON, Maine — Lance A. Davis, 42, of Little River Road, died suddenly on Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at his home.

He was born in Danvers, Mass., on Sept. 26, 1960, the son of Jack and Sandy (Riddle) Davis.

He was raised in Danvers, graduating from Danvers High School, Class of 1978. He was a "goal tender" for the Danvers Falcon's High School and later coached youth hockey.

Mr. Davis loved life! He loved his many hobbies.

He was a man of many gifts, especially his time he gave to his children. His children, Zack, 15, and Leah, 11, were the light of his life, along with his wife of 18 years, Lynne.

He coached Lebanon Youth Soccer for six years. Both of his children acquired the same enthusiasm for the game. Besides coaching his children
and many others, Mr. Davis had been a role model for many.

As a teen, he loved buying and fixing up "55 Chevy's." He began to race at Lee Speedway, in numerous divisions. He raced for 15 years with his family by his side. Mr. Davis was instrumental in getting his son, Zack, involved with the "Kids Truck Division" at White Mountain Park and most recently in the "Hobby Stocks" at Lee Speedway.

Mr. Davis was devoted to his family and had a deep, abiding faith in God, which sustained him throughout his life.

He had been employed for over 25 years in the machine industry, most recently, he was employed with the Turbocam family of Dover, N.H.

Family survivors include his wife, Lynne R. Davis of Lebanon; his two precious children, Zachary and Leah Davis of Lebanon; his loving parents, Jack and Sandy Davis of Lebanon; two brothers, Eric Davis of Lebanon and Robert Davis of Danvers; his sister, Jacilyn Moreau of Acton; his foster brother, Stephen Spence of Peabody, Mass.; his mother-in-law, Priscilla Blute of Danvers; two brothers-in-law, Reid A. Blute of South Grafton, Mass., and Todd A. Blute of South Hamilton, Mass.; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Heald Funeral Home with the Rev. David McGuire, officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Grove Cemetery.
