Mr. Harry B. Rawlins, age 82, of Zebulon, passed away November 2, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Rawlins was born December 9, 1929 in Macon. He was a life-long resident of Zebulon, and a life-time member of First Baptist Church of Zebulon where he loved to sing in the choir, and was an honorary Deacon. Mr. Rawlins was a veteran of the United States Navy, and retired from Delta Airlines after 24 years of service. He was a former Mayor of Zebulon and a City of Zebulon Council member for more than 40 years. He enjoyed life by spending time with his wife, family and friends. He liked to visit the post office and City of Zebulon employees at City Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, D. B. Rawlins, Sr. and Irene Hall Rawlins; son, Christopher Harry Rawlins, and his grandson, Rodney Chad Rawlins. He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Darlene Rawlins; sons and daughters-in-law: Glen and Kim Rawlins and Keith and Sherry Rawlins all of Zebulon; grandchildren: Amy G. Blount, Chrissy Rawlins, Allen Rawlins and wife Sarah, Austin Rawlins, Katie Rawlins and Bailey Rawlins; great-grandchildren: Libby Baynard, Brayden Gazaway, Ashton Gazaway, Landon Baynard, Lathen Baynard, Anna Ruby Griffin, Liam Blount and Brooklyn Rawlins; and former daughter-in-law: Elizabeth Hawkins of Zebulon.
