Allie was a school teacher, and was orphaned at a young age. Her parents were Enos Pray Stubbs and Lydia Howell Grave. She was raised by her grandparents, Allen and Mary Grave. On April 19, 1876 she received a teaching certificate from the Hennepin Co. Supt. of Schools.
Allie was a member of Crystal Bay Presbyterian Church, active in WHCPA, went to Earlham College in Richmond, IN, and joined a Quaker meeting there. Her children were Verne, Valentine, Millard, Maizie, Daisy and Doris.
