NORTH ZULCH — Services for Melvin Edgar Wiese, 75, of North Zulch are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Madisonville Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Dickson will officiate. Burial will be in the Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Wiese died Thursday in College Station. He was born in North Zulch and lived there for 13 years. He retired from the Continental Car Company in Houston and was a farmer and rancher later in his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a deacon of the First Baptist Church in North Zulch and was a member and deacon of Hibbard Memorial Baptist Church in Houston for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wiese. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Debbie Wiese of North Zulch; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Chester Barnett of Crosby, Texas; and two grandchildren.
