Neva Hoskins Davis, of 494 Parker Rd., Danville, VA died at the residence of her daughter-in-law Judy Davis. She had been in declining health for the past 10 years. Mrs. Davis was born Oct. 18, 1917 in Climax, VA. She was the daughter of the late John H. Hoskins and Rosa Lee Davis Hoskins. Mrs. Davis graduated from Climax High School and Attended Averett College. She worked in no. 1 dye house in Dan River Mills in Schoolfield as a clerk. Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter:-in-law: Judy Davis, of Danville, VA; three grandsons: Steven Davis, of Danville, VA; Kevin Davis and his wife Chris, of Narrows, VA; and Joe Thornton and his wife Wendy, of Dry Fork, VA; granddaughter; Starlett Woodson, of Ruffin NC.; five great-grandchildren: Kelly Davis, Abby Davis, Jake Thornton, Jessica Woodson, and Hunter Woodson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by two sons: Ted Davis and Cecil Davis; five brothers: Otha Hoskins, Howard Hoskins, Walter Hoskins, CB Hoskins, and W. D. Deboe; six sisters: Elise McVay, Hattie Cook, Fannie Sheppard, Linwood Thornton, Carrie Adkins, and Stella Mobley. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday September 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel officiated by (clergy). Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens, in Danville, VA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 25, from 7 until 8: 30 p.m. in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel and at other times 494 Parker Rd., Danville, VA.
