Hugh Howard, 79, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center.
He was a native of Creekville, served in the U.S. Army for 26 years, which included the Korea and Vietnam conflicts, and was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewell and Ethel Davidson Howard; and a brother, Homer Howard.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline Thibault Howard; one daughter, Barbara (Ken) Dashnaw of Elizabethtown; four sons, Robert H. (Tammy) How-ard of Louisiana, James "Jim" (Jennifer) Howard of Nicholasville, David G. Howard of Elizabethtown and Richard W. Howard of Owensboro; one brother, Earl D. (Janie) Howard of London, Ky.; one sister, Shelby Jean (Bill) Rakovalis of Camden, Mich.; and four grandchildren, Sean, Brandy, Russell and Jameson.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at St. James Catholic Church in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Chuck Walker officiating. Burial follows in St. James Cemetery.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. James Building Fund.
