Julia Ann DeTreville Knight, of Holly Hill, widow of Harold Knight, Jr., died November 21, 2012 in Mt. Pleasant. She was 74.

Julia was born in Walterboro, SC, the daughter of the late Julian DeTreville and Frances Helfrich DeTreville.

She was a graduate of Walterboro High School and Montreat College.

Julia was a retired administrative assistant with the South Carolina public school system.

She was a member of Holly Hill United Methodist Church. Central to Julia's life was her great devotion and faith in God, her family, her dear friends, and her dog, Rebel. She loved growing plants and flowers, and adored her four-legged companions as though they were her children. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and was exceptionally proud of her growing family.

Surviving are daughters, Ann Aura Knight of Switzerland, Maria Fitzharris of Mt. Pleasant, and Pearl Stringer (Tate) of Los Angeles, California; son, William H. "Billy" Knight of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Marco Knight and Brian Knight of Switzerland; Jennifer Knight and Katie Knight of Huger, SC; Skylar Stringer and Baby on the Way Stringer of Los Angeles, CA; and Ciara and Sean Fitzharris of Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., November 24, 2012, at Holly Hill United Methodist Church, with Rev. Cooper Stonestreet and Rev. Albert Cox officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Live Oak Cemetery, Walterboro. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Avinger Funeral Home.
